PART 7 - PRIZES AND SETTLING OF ACCOUNTS
126. Reduced prize amounts in certain cases
126.1 Subject to Paragraph 126.6, a horse which is eligible for the Scheme under Rule 124.7 is entitled to a breeder's prize of the reduced amount specified in the Scheme in respect of a steeple chase, hurdle race or National Hunt Flat Race, and a horse which is otherwise eligible for the Scheme but which had its first start in a flat race is entitled to a breeder's prize of the reduced amount specified in the Scheme in respect of a steeple chase or hurdle race.
126.2 Paragraphs 126.3 and 126.4 apply to any horse foaled on or after January 1st, 2000 which wins a steeple chase, hurdle race or National Hunt Flat Race.
126.3 An Eligible Horse is entitled to full payment of a breeder's prize only if it is the progeny of a British based sire.
126.4 Subject of Paragraph 126.6, an Eligible Horse which is not the progeny of a British-based sire is entitled to a breeder's prize of the reduced amount specified in the Scheme.
126.5 A horse is the progeny of a British based sire if it is determined as such by the Thoroughbred Breeders' Association.
126.6 The breeder of a horse which is otherwise eligible for payment of the reduced amount specified in the Scheme in respect of a steeple chase, hurdle race or National Hunt Flat Race, in accordance with Rules 124.7, 126.1 or 126.4, shall not be entitled to such payment if the calculated prize value applicable to the horse in accordance with Schedule 10 is less than the amount specified in Paragraph 4 of that Schedule.
